So, no, don't feel bad. I enjoyed languages, too, but my French and Italian are terribly rusty these days. You can't do everything.<br />To Michael, I would say, I do think maths deals in absolutes, in a way science does not. If you have a smartie, and then another, you have two smarties. One plus one. They're real, and you can eat them! (I'm off chocolate, sorry) This is also twice as many smarties as before (one times two). And if you eat one (if you can stick at only one) you have taken one away! It's magic! Looking forward to Easter.Athenahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08497065436976563532noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6861480576960760833.post-90809996521939957202016-03-15T09:49:17.787+00:002016-03-15T09:49:17.787+00:00I have always found maths and logical thought diff...I have always found maths and logical thought difficult. I remember going to see an uncle who tried to help me understand algebra, but to no avail. Carl Jung's theory of personality type has helped me feel less bad about this. It had helped me understand that thinking is my 'inferior function', which does not mean I can't think. I can and I do, but it is slow. There is a danger in being a psychotherapist and over-using feeling and intuition, and my stress coming out in irrational thinking. Perhaps I need to spend time in Sensing and Thinking types of prayer? It is said that God can get through to us through our least developed functions. But for some reason I don't understand, maths remains a mystery to me. Paul Arnesenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02951858926984626545noreply@blogger.com
